As you can see from the map below Vero Beach is a
small seaside community on the east coast of
Florida. The home at 2086 Porpoise Point Lane N. is one of the more
attractive houses for rent in the area.
Homey,
yet casually elegant,
Vero Beach and Indian
River County attracts visitors and residents because of the cultural wealth
and inherent natural beauty of the area. Vero Beach was rated the "Best
Small Town in Florida & 12th in the Nation".
Vero Beach was named one of "The 100
Best Art Towns in America." It has the largest privately funded art
museum/institute in the State of Florida. The town is home to a number
of working artists' studios and hosts a number of beach front art show
throughout the season.
Strict zoning that
restricts building height to four stories and maintains a building footprint
to lot size ratio consistent with the existent homes and businesses
preserves the seaside town ambience of Vero Beach. This means that the
ambience of the areas with houses for rent has also been preserved. In
the Porpoise Point neighborhood homes are restricted to one story except for
the two homes right on the ocean. This ensure your privacy by the pool
and in your yard.
Vero Beach is also
blessed with a number of fine restaurants ranging in taste from French Haute
Cuisine of Cafe Du Soir to Casey's Place- the best hamburger in the world.
Known as the "Gateway to the Tropics," the town
is located in a climatic transition zone that offers an unusual mix of
vegetation found in the coastal Carolinas - ancient oak trees and pine
forests - blended with swaying palms and colorful blooms typical of the
tropics. Its beaches are among some of the most
scenic and
pristine in the state.

The pearl in
Vero Beach's necklace of beaches is South Beach Park. A modest complex of
beach homes and small motels leads to a shoreline that is a sun wo
rshipper's
delight. The city has provided parking for all comers to the markedly wide
beach with clean, gleaming light-brown sand and emerald green water. Walk
along the beach a
quarter-mile north of the entrance point, and you'll have a virtual
wilderness all to yourself.
Transportation: Four
international airports serve Vero Beach - Orlando (2 hours drive),
Melbourne (40 minutes drive), West Palm Beach (2 hours drive) and
Ft. Lauderdale (2.5 hours drive).
There is an Avis rental office in Vero Beach.
Beyond the beach, Vero Beach
is best known for Dodgertown, where the Los Angeles Dodgers get ready for
the summer game, and Indian River fruit. For the uninitiated, Indian River
citrus is by far the king of Florida fruit. Roadside stands and groves sell
fresh-picked oranges, grapefruit, and tangerines that have to be tasted to
be believed. And no Florida vacation would be complete with indulging in
some fresh-squeezed orange juice.
